Today, I published my August Passive Income here.
Cliché as it sounds, it really does feel like just yesterday when I uploaded my very first income report video. Back then when I first documented my income, I wasn’t sure how far I’d go with it — I just wanted to document the journey.
Now, a year later, I have twelve months of records to look back on. It’s a strange but wonderful feeling. I do keep a spreadsheet of my numbers, but honestly, I find myself enjoying my videos more than my spreadsheet. Watching my own updates and seeing how I’ve progressed over time is surprisingly fun. Maybe that makes rather narcissistic. Haha.
What I love about having these videos is that they’re not just numbers on a page — they’re moments in time. They capture how my thoughts, and how I laugh at myself at times. Something that my spreadsheet don’t show.
I plan to keep making these videos. Somehow, I realize I am making these videos more for myself. There were a few of such videos that had a net loss of subscribers, and when I was trying to hit the 1k subscribers then, it might not have been a good choice to do so. But well, I made the decision to continue. Driving reason was that I enjoyed watching them myself.
Who knows? Maybe one day, when I’m old and white-haired, I’ll sit back and watch my younger self talk about counting her passive income.
For now, though, I’ll keep going, month after month, sharing my progress. And I’m excited to see what the next twelve months will look like.
